    Corn on the Cob

Who doesn’t love corn on the cob? Seriously.  Nothing says “SUMMER” like corn on the cob.  There are four types of corn: Flint, Dent, Sweet and Popcorn. Flint is also know as Indian Corn, and the kernels come in a range of colors from white to red and is primarily grown in Central and South America. Dent corn is also called “Field Corn” because it is used as live stock feed. Sweet corn is what we eat when we are eating corn on the cob and it is never never processed into feed or flour.  Popcorn, well we all know what that is used for. Right?

So Sweet Corn on the cob, a summer favorite for sure, especially on the grill, all those smoky grill flavors get into the corn. Yum! And so easy to prepare. Here’s how to grill corn on the cob:

    1. Clean your corn — rinse the corn and remove any loose silk or husk. Keep the corn in the husk!
    2. Soak your corn — soak the corn in a pan of water for 15 minutes before you grill it.
    3. Get your grill ready — start the grill, while your corn is soaking.
    4. Remove corn from water — shake off the water and dry the corn.
    5. Grill your corn –  Place on grill and cover. For gas grill 5 minutes or charcoal grill 15 minutes.
