A wedding monogram can really personalize your wedding. It can be used in a number of places including napkins, on the cake, on bridesmaid and groomsmen favor bags, on your wedding favors, on the tablecloth at the bridal party table during the reception, as the introduction to your photos slideshow, and anywhere else you can imagine. Here’s a guide to using your wedding monogram in your wedding décor.

Dos and Don’ts

· Don’t use your married name monogram on anything before the wedding. It’s traditional to use your first initials and married name at the ceremony and later.

· Do use a combination of your first names or initials in pre-wedding correspondence or on shower favors. A wedding invitation with your first initials in the style of your wedding monogram is a great touch.

· Do use it everywhere you can think in the reception décor.

· Do use four initials if the bride will keep her last name. It’s perfectly acceptable to have a wedding monogram with four initials, use your first names only.

Ways to Use a Monogram Before the Wedding

· Use the first initial of the bride and groom’s first names to create a beautiful monogram for the wedding invitation, save the date cards, shower invitations, etc.

· Use this same monogram for wedding shower favors. Put it on champagne glasses for the bachelorette party or for the bridesmaids’ luncheon.

· Use it on the rehearsal dinner napkins.

· Put the monogram on your unity candle.

· Have the monogram put on the ring bearer’s pillow.

· Monogrammed water bottles and fans are a great way to keep your guests cool during your outdoor wedding.

Ways to Use a Wedding Monogram at the Reception

· Have someone design you a cake topper in the style of your wedding monogram.

· Have your cake decorator screen the monogram on the icing in a contrasting color.

· Use your monogram as your decorative theme napkins, place cards, and toasting flutes. It’s a formal touch that adds class to your reception.

· Get a monogrammed guest book.

Daisy Themed Weddings

A daisy themed wedding is perfect for spring or an outdoor wedding. Daisies are cheerful flowers that match the tone of a casual wedding or a garden wedding. Daisies come in a wide variety of complimentary colors, so if you are having a hard time picking a color scheme, go with several different daisy colors.

Daisies also look beautiful in silver or clay pots, so you can really play up a garden theme. Here’s a guide to planning a daisy-themed wedding.

Decide between white and colored daisies.

White daisies go well with other colors, but a wedding with white daisies can be a very pretty backdrop, especially if the wedding is very casual.

Pick a few different shades for colored daisies. A typical scheme is red, pink, orange, yellow and white. Gerbera daisies are a larger daisy variety that can make a big impact with fewer flowers.

White Daisy Theme

A white daisy theme is perfect for the bride who wants simplicity in her wedding décor. If you using white or one shade such as yellow, pink or purple for your wedding décor, a white daisy theme is perfect for keeping it tied together.

Here are some ideas for using white daisies.

· Have your florist put together large bouquets of daisies for you and your attendants. Have her tie them with a thick, pretty ribbon in the color that matches your colors.

· Daisies are a great option for a pomander bouquet. (A pomander is a ball of flowers that hang from a long ribbon.) These are also great for pew hangers.

· Use white daisies in your hair. These beautiful flowers will look lovely in a low bun.

· Look for a veil with daisies embroidered into the lace.

· White daisies with long stems are a great option for simple table decorations. Place tall cylindrical vases with a few daisies in each. Place on tables alone or with tall white candles.

· White daisies are a great option for the bride on a budget. These flowers are typically less expensive than roses or lilies.

· These daisy votives are a beautiful table decoration that doesn’t require fresh flowers. Save money and send them home with guests as favors.

· Coming up daisies! Your guests can continue the daisy theme at home with these daisy seed favors.

Colored Daisy Theme

This theme works for the bride who has a sunny personality. Gerbera daisies come in very vibrant colors, so they are best set against a simple backdrop of color such as white, cream or green.

Here are some tips for using colored daisies in your wedding theme.

· Pair colorful daisy bouquets with simple bridesmaids’ dresses.

· Let your flower girl throw daisy petals instead of rose petals.

· Cut the stems off the daisies and arrange several colored daisy “heads” on a white tablecloth for a very casual look. Add votives for effect.

· Match your favors to your colored daisy décor with these cute daisy-shaped wildflower packets.

Rose-Themed Weddings

Looking for a wedding theme? Pick a flower. How about roses? A rose-themed wedding can be a very classy affair. Here’s a guide to all the ways you can use roses in your wedding theme.

Start with a color or two.

Roses come in deep colors, so you will want to pick a color scheme that encompasses this. Let’s say you want to use red roses. Add white or pale pink as an accent color or vice versa.

Yellow roses call for a soft color like white or beige to really let the rose stand out. Do you like great contrasts? Go for yellow roses on a wine-colored background.

The combinations are pretty much endless with roses coming in a wide array of colors. Stick with one or two colors for simplicity.

Decide how many roses you need.
Coordinate with your florist on this. Roses are such rich-hued flowers; you can save money by having bouquets that have just a few flowers. Tall vases with single roses can be a budget reception table decoration.

DIY Roses

If you are really looking for a budget saver, roses are a flower that is simple to arrange yourself. Order from a wholesaler to get the best prices. Flowebud.com offers grand boxes of 50, 75 or 100 roses in a variety of colors at a great price.

Use pretty ribbon in white, green or pink to wrap simple bouquets and vases. You can even buy florists tape to make your own boutonnieres. Buy a dozen roses before you order your large box to practice.

You will have to time it correctly to make sure the flowers stay fresh and open before the ceremony. Have the order arrive two or three days before the wedding. This should give them time to open. You will need to do the arrangements the day before the wedding. This can be a great bridesmaids bonding experience.

Use rose petals for decoration.

This collection of dried rose petals can meet all your decoration needs: cover the aisle runner, up to 22 reception tables, or fill up to 120 cones (used in place of birdseed or bubbles as a send off). A variety of colors are available.

Mix the deep red collection with cream candles for a very romantic evening wedding. Use pastel pink with bright white candles and linens for a beautiful garden wedding. Use the champagne collection to compliment a navy or brown wedding color scheme. Use the fall sunset blend for a beautiful autumn wedding.

Use a rose theme in your favors.
