Tips for Choosing Groomsmen Attire

Now although you have been quite busy picking out your bridesmaids’ attire and what looks best on each one, you can’t forget about the men in your bridal party! You’d be surprised this can take just as much thought and although many groomsmen probably think a tux and tie will do, here are a few more options to think about.

Just how formal is your affair?

For a more casual setting like the beach or really any type of outdoor wedding it is best to ditch the tux and go with a more casual selection. Dress pants, a collared shirt/sweater vest and a tie would do a great job and won’t make your groomsmen uncomfortable. Depending on your theme, khaki pants could also replace the traditional black pant and as for the tie that is your choice as well if you want to keep it a part of the attire. Adding some fun touches to their footwear could include some casual kicks or funky colors that match your bridesmaids and sandals or even going barefoot could do the trick if you’re having a beach theme.

What’s your color scheme?

Black and white is very traditional but if you want to twist things up a bit you can match their dress shirt, vest or tie with your wedding colors. There’s no rule book saying groomsmen need to wear a white shirt and I personally find that a black shirt looks very nice with a tie matching the bridesmaids’ dresses. If your bridesmaids are not wearing the same color the groomsman that is walking her down the aisle should wear some kind of matching attire with her. This gives your bridal party a really nice coordinated look and makes your wedding colors go throughout the wedding besides just your bridesmaids wearing them.

When to go shopping?

If you’re planning on all your groomsmen having coordinated attire then having a group shopping trip is really your best option. Yes I know, it’s very hard to get one man to go shopping, it’ll be a little difficult to get all your groomsmen together but even if you do a few at a time this can save you many headaches in the future. Another great idea is to tell your groomsmen to go the store you’ve decided on buying from anytime during that week they’re available and tell customer service what wedding they’re in. Many stores will keep a list of what you had decided on and all your groomsmen will need to do is get measured and pick their outfit up when it’s ready. Now what could go wrong with that?!

Wedding Planning Tips from Moments of Elegance

images2Planning a wedding can be a bit stressful, can’t it? But it doesn’t have to be, really it doesn’t! We swear! We are here to make sure you have the perfect day…the day you have always dreamed of ever since you were a little girl.

Here are some little ways you can make your big day super special:

Share a Secret

Have a little secret between the 2 of you that day whether it be wearing matching underwear or having something “just between you” in your hand, bouquet, pocket or even a special look and when ever you get nervous you look at your partner with “the look” and you’ll both know what each other are thinking about. Some people may catch it and wonder what it’s all about but it’ll be “your little wedding day secret” that helped you get through the day together… depending on each other at the beginning of your life as a family.

Best Man 101

The duties of a best man include being an assistant to the groom and the head of the groomsmen; he also is in charge of the bachelor party, getting the groom to the church, paying the officiant, signing the marriage license, holding the rings and giving a toast at the reception. He has a lot of responsibility and its also traditional to give him a nice gift at the rehearsal dinner to say thank you for all of his hard work!

Choosing Wedding Favors & Decorations

When deciding what wedding favors and decorations to use, there are some questions you can ask to help you choose:

Do you want something that will feature your names and wedding date?

Do you want something that will be fun to play with at the reception?

Do you want to give something that´s useful?

Do you want something that will last for a long time?

Do you want something that will be part of the table decorations?

Do you want a favor that will express both of your interests or personalities?

You’ll also want to find the BEST Wedding Favor company to work with, like Moments of Elegance.

Next figure that you’ll need a half of bottle of wine, per guest, (that’s two glasses per person). If you have 20 guests coming to your party you’ll need ten bottles. A wedding monogram can really personalize your wedding. It can be used in a number of places including napkins, on the cake, on bridesmaid and groomsmen favor bags, on your wedding favors, on the tablecloth at the bridal party table during the reception, as the introduction to your photos slideshow, and anywhere else you can imagine. Here’s a guide to using your wedding monogram in your wedding décor.

· Do use it everywhere you can think in the reception décor.

· Do use four initials if the bride will keep her last name. It’s perfectly acceptable to have a wedding monogram with four initials, use your first names only.

Ways to Use a Monogram Before the Wedding

· Use the first initial of the bride and groom’s first names to create a beautiful monogram for the wedding invitation, save the date cards, shower invitations, etc.

· Use this same monogram for wedding shower favors. Put it on champagne glasses for the bachelorette party or for the bridesmaids’ luncheon.

· Use it on the rehearsal dinner napkins.

· Put the monogram on your unity candle.

· Monogrammed water bottles and fans are a great way to keep your guests cool during your outdoor wedding.

Ways to Use a Wedding Monogram at the Reception

· Have someone design you a cake topper in the style of your wedding monogram.

· Have your cake decorator screen the monogram on the icing in a contrasting color.

· Use your monogram as your decorative theme napkins, place cards, and toasting flutes. It’s a formal touch that adds class to your reception.
