DIY Summer Scrub with Only 4 Ingredients!

Pinterest is THE place to get plenty of inspiration for DIY ideas and wedding planning tips. If you’re on Pinterest and looking for wedding ideas, party inspiration, beauty tips or fashion ideas make sure to follow us on there! We always have new and interesting things to get inspired from.

Today I want to share a really awesome summer scrub I found while pinning from Deliciously Organized. Citrus scents make for a great summer scent and when mixed with coconut oil the skin is left soft and refreshed with a healthy new glow.  This mixture is also nice after being out in the sun all day when the skin needs a little extra exfoliation. The best part? You’ll only need 4 ingredients and you probably have at least 2 of them already! I wanted to share this with you guys because I know how dry skin can get in these hot months, and while pedicures and spa days would be ideal, not all of us have the time or money to be heading to the spa every other week. So if you’re planning on having a girl’s night or a friend’s birthday is coming up or you just want to enjoy beautiful skin for yourself, this scrub will surely be your go-to solution!

4 Ingredient Summer Scrub

What you’ll need:

-Sea Salt

-Raw Sugar

-Coconut Oil

-Sweet Orange Essential Oil

On the site there’s no measurements but she suggests to try 1/2 cup salt, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/4 cup coconut oil and about 30 drops of orange. Depending on if you like sugar scrubs or salt scrubs more, I would add more of that ingredient.

Simply add ingredients in order with the largest portion being sea salt, then top it off with coconut oil. Last, add about 30 orange drops and stir with a butter knife. Then simply enjoy your soft, beautiful skin!

Scent-sensual Perfumes Perfect for the Wedding Night

All of us gals want to smell amazing but on your wedding night you should be looking for that extra something. These perfumes are what I think are the best way to show your man a good time. Depending on what kind of smell you’re looking for- be it sexy, tropical, sensual, romantic you should for sure check these fragrances for your wedding night. And just a tip: Spritz the inside of your dress before putting it on. When you move around the room or dance, you’ll always have a gentle fragrance around you.

Lancôme Hypnose Senses: Blow your new husband’s mind. It’s sexy and filled with pink peppercorns, rose petals and a touch of honeycomb, it is then paired up with a deep and woody base to take the sensuality up a notch.

Vera Wang Sheer Veil: Dainty and romantic brides, this one’s for you. It’s modern with a dreamy mix of Champagne rose and lavender plus gives your skin a soft touch.

Giorgio Armani Onde Vertige: This fragrance is sweet and tropical much like a soft island breeze. This is soft, warm and heady, like walking through a Polynesian garden of white blossoms, gently unravelling in the steamy evening heat.

Sarah Jessica Parker The Lovely Collection Endless: Looking for something subtle and gentle?  This is light, bright, fresh and feminine – smells like walking into a flower shop.

How to Get Rid of Acne Scars Before Your Wedding Day

I’m sure your hormonal teenage years are beyond over but did the acne get the message? If not and you are suffering from acne scars here are a few tips to have glowing, healthy skin on your wedding day. Let me know how they work!

How to get rid of acne scars?

• Leaving lemon juice on skin for about 10-15 minutes is one of the best natural home remedies for getting rid of acne scars.

• Prepare a homemade face mask by mixing one tablespoon each of yogurt, oatmeal and sour cream. Then, add a few drops of lemon juice in it and apply the mixture on face and neck. Rinse it off after about 15 minutes. Follow this therapy on a regular basis to reduce acne scars.

• Fresh tomato juice is loaded with antioxidants and hence helps a great deal in fading acne scars. Application of a mixture of tomato juice, cucumber juice and milk powder is also useful in removing acne scars and pimple marks considerably.

• Apple cider vinegar when used as a toner after cleansing works wonders in acne and acne scar removal. It is better to use it in diluted form by adding 4 parts of water in 1 part apple cider vinegar.

It can also be taken internally as a home medicine by having a cup of water mixed with 2 tablespoons of ACV and some honey (to improve taste); it is useful for detoxification as well. Here’s a video demonstrating how to get rid of acne scars using apple cider vinegar along with other substances like honey, sugar, green tea etc.

How to Get Pearly White Teeth on Your Wedding Day

This is your special moment, all eyes will be on you and flashing cameras will be every which way. So wouldn’t you want to smile with confidence? There’s no hiding from your photographer today, it’s all about you! Make your teeth pearly white with these 100% natural tips to try before your wedding day!
White Teeth for Wedding

1. Brush After Drinking or Eating

The best way, but not always the easiest is to simply brush your teeth after eating or drinking something. This takes a lot of persistence and can even be kind of difficult depending on where you are at the time. Most food does not stain teeth, but if you are a coffee drinker or if you smoke, you can pretty much count on having discolored teeth from staining. If this is the case then having your teeth cleaned every three months may be in order, besides trying some of the natural remedies listed here.

2. Hydrogen Peroxide and Baking Soda

This works great as a natural teeth whitener. Many people confirm to the fact that it does make their teeth look whiter. Mix a small amount of hydrogen peroxide with a small amount of baking soda to make a paste. Brush your teeth as usual, making sure you brush those back teeth too. Hydrogen peroxide is an anti-bacterial agent and works great as a total mouth and gum cleaner and keeps the mouth free of germs.

Baking soda is a gritty substance like sandpaper so be careful that you have enough hydrogen peroxide mixed in with the soda because if you don’t it can very well scrub the enamel right off your teeth and enamel does not grow back. The paste should not be gritty at all, and in fact it should be a runnier paste than a stiff paste.

3. Olive Oil

Can it be true? Olive oil to clean your teeth? Just when you thought you heard it all, along comes olive oil to the rescue as a teeth whitener. Some people are attesting to their teeth becoming whiter by applying olive oil to their teeth after they brush. There are two ways you can apply it. Add a few drops to your tooth brush and simple brush it on, or add the olive oil to a corner of a clean wash cloth and rub it on. It can’t hurt to try this natural whitening tip. Olive oil is good for you!

4. Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV)

It makes sense that apple cider vinegar would eventually remove stubborn stains on the teeth, especially from coffee and nicotine. It has been proven that it does work but you have to be consistent and it takes a least a month of continuous usage to see results. Some say that using ACV looks like you just got your teeth professionally cleansed. Be careful, as with all acids, it can remove the enamel on your teeth as well. After brushing with ACV, you will need to brush again with regular toothpaste, preferably a non fluoride paste, or rinse your mouth out really well.

5. Lemon or Orange Peels

There have been reports that lemon and or orange peels will also do the trick of whitening your teeth. Guess you don’t know until you try. Here again, these food products are very healthy and good for your stomach but the acid content might eventually wear away the enamel on the teeth. So if you use lemon or orange peel always rinse afterwards to be on the safe side. A good oral mouth rinse is hydrogen peroxide because it keeps breath fresh by eliminating bad breath and also is a very good bacterial agent. Use half water and half hydrogen peroxide, swish around in your mouth and leave in for at least a full minute.

5 Great Tips to Shiny Silky Hair For Your Wedding

It’s every girl’s dream to look amazing on her wedding day so why not start taking care of your hair now so when that big day comes around your locks of love won’t look like locks of split ends! Here are a few basic tips you should most definitely put to use daily to get beautiful shiny silky hair for your big day!

Tip #1 Deep Conditioning WORKS!

Mixing a silicone-based shine serum with deep conditioner the night before a big event will leave strands shiny and healthy — just like that, says Townsend (celebrity hairstylist who treats plenty of A-list leading ladies like Natalie Portman and January Jones). Simply mix the two together and apply; leave on for 15 minutes, then rinse out.

Tip #2 Heat is BAD NEWS!

Although you may be tempted to blow dry, curl, straighten, perm or color your hair (or, do all of the above), consider the after-effects of overdoing it. The more you process your locks (whether you’re tweaking the color, texture or look of your hair), the worse off you are in terms of overall hair health, including shine and softness. Cut back on what you do: for example, use heat styling tools every other day (rather than daily), and color treat every three months (rather than every six to eight weeks).

Tip #3 Cold Water vs. Hot Water?

You likely know that scalding hot water is a no-no in the shower; it robs skin of vital moisturizing agents, making chaffing and chapping more likely. Guess what? The same no-no applies to your hair as the skin on your head (scalp) is a key player in maintaining the health of your locks. So, when you’re washing up, stick to warm or room temperature water when possible, and rinse out conditioner with cooler water to lock in the hydrating, conditioning benefits.

Tip #4 Going Au-Natural

Real mayonnaise works wonders! It can be smelly and a bit disgusting but homemade mayo is the Americanised version of the curd/ chickpea hair mask. The eggs, vinegar and olive oil in the mayo are perfect for dry hair and dandruff. Avoid all hair products that have Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or Ammonium Laureth Sulfate which can dry out your hair strands causing them to curl up and dry out. Try to find products that contain tea tree oils and mint oils that are really good for shiny hair. I really liked the new LUSH shampoo cakes which work really well and are completely organic in nature.

Tip #5 Trim it UP!

This is an easy one but how many of us really remember to trim our split ends? It’s okay to admit it, I know I get behind every now and again. Every six to eight weeks, get a haircut. It needn’t be drastic, but it must be consistent. A bi-monthly, slight trim keeps ends from splitting and tearing up the shaft, which in turn, helps hair remain healthy and strong. As a reminder to yourself, schedule your next appointment at the end of your current appointment, every time!

Now you’ll be on your way to shiny silky hair in no time before your wedding comes around!

Adding Sparkle to Your Hair

Your neck, ears and wrists aren’t the only places extra glitter and glitz can be placed on your wedding day. Hair jewels are a great way to add some pizazz to your already beautifully styled hair on your special day and there are a variety of different ways to do it. It’s fun to play around and see what best fits your style and what goes with your final up do or down do decision. If you decide to put a big headpiece in your hair be careful that your accessories that you have already chosen won’t clash or the look you’re going for may not go as planned. Adding pizazz to your hair will change your overall style of your wedding attire so if you’re looking for a unique but classy way to add extra sparkle no need to look any further.

Take a look at some ideas I’ve gathered to go with what hair style you choose to go with…

Hair Pins/Combs  Besides all the billions of hair pins your stylist will place in your hair you can easily add a little bling within your up do. These are really nice to add subtle sparkles within your hair. If you already have flashy accessories and you’re wearing your hair in an up do this is your best choice.

Feathers & Flowers These can really be used with any hair style. You can place a hair piece above your ear if you decide to wear your hair down or for up dos I suggest placing small flower or feather pieces throughout your hair or if you’re interested in a big flower place that a little bit to the side against your up do.

Tiaras You have a couple different options with this style of bling and depending if you are wearing your hair up or down should determine what best suits you. There are crystal tiaras that are just placed on your head and I find this style goes great for brides wearing their hair down. For up dos tiaras with an added comb look really great and adds a lot of uniqueness to your overall hairstyle.
