All Things Sunflower For Your Fall Wedding!
Maybe it’s just me but I love seeing sunflowers at a fall wedding! The marigold yellow color perfectly blends in with the fall time theme of other rustic colors such as oranges, deep reds and browns. Plus, sunflowers are usually in season around this time so it’s the best time to get them on sale and find plenty of ideas. Now unlike roses where you can really overflow your wedding with that flower, you don’t want to overkill the sunflower presence because they are quite in-your-face with just a few.
Classical or Rustic?
This choice between a classical or rustic wedding is totally up to you but I have found these two types of weddings make the perfect type to go along with a sunflower theme.
Rustic sunflower themes work perfectly for an outside or barn Fall wedding. You can add in some pumpkins and/or some leaf decorations and you have yourself a beautiful, yet rustic wedding theme. I have also found that yarn/twine and other outdoor materials like sticks look really beautiful with sunflowers and also gives it that old fashioned or country-like look to it.
In a more classical theme you can go with two plain colors and add in a hint of sunflower to create some excitement. Personally I love the black and white theme with sunflowers. However navy blue and yellow is a big hit these recent years and since your sunflowers will give you the yellow, you can choose to compliment them with either navy blue or a bold blue accent. I find that dark blues look much better with sunflowers. A vibrant green has also been quite the catch since sunflowers have that long green stem. So as you can see there are really plenty of color options to choose from just get your creative hats on! Hehe.
Let Them Eat Cake!
Cake is always one of my favorite things to look at (and of course eat haha) at a wedding. So while browsing through my fix of wedding cake gorgeousness the sunflower theme has really taken off. There are a ton of beautiful and very creative ideas that may surprise you. I saw people get whimsical with their cake, elegant, completely country, simple and even a bit sunflower crazy. There is really no limit as to what type of cake you can go with for this type of theme!
A Sunflower Wedding to Remember
Wedding favors is what we do here and what kind of person would I be if I didn’t tell you about our awesome sunflower stuff?! Now for a rustic themed wedding (or any wedding really) wouldn’t it be great if your guests could get their own package of sunflower seeds to take home? Cherry Blossom Themed Wedding
Nothing says spring has sprung like the beautiful blossoms of the cherry tree, but this theme can really be used year-round! The flowers are native to many Asia countries and if you have roots to those countries this may also be a great way to show your love of your heritage. Although this is a white and pale pink flower the color scheme for your wedding does not necessarily need to go that route. The pink and white theme is very popular although there are color schemes of pink and chocolate brown/ pink and sage green/ pink and lavender with all of them having white accents that are just as popular for this theme.
Décor When decorating your Cherry Blossom themed wedding use as many flowers and possibly a few Asian touches to bring it all together. Although real cherry blossoms may be quite impossible to find, since they only last about one week a year, there are plenty of silk recreations that can still give your wedding that Spring vibe. I love the idea of paper lanterns to light up your wedding once it turns night and you could even buy lanterns that have cherry blossom designs on them or coordinating colors to really match your theme.
Desert Time When browsing around for cherry blossom weddings I’d have to say when I saw the wedding cakes I was blown away. Of course it matters who your baker is but the cakes that match up with this theme are overflowing with detail and really gorgeous. Many cake designers can make very realistic cherry blossom flowers and branches on your cake and no matter your color scheme that can be incorporated as well.
Take Home Memories Wedding favors are very common and if you want to give your guests more than just a sheer bag of Jordan almonds you can incorporate your cherry blossom wedding theme with your wedding favors. The possibilities are really endless and you can give anything from candles to lotions and if you’re going for the traditional vibe paper fans and all of these favors could be decaled with a cherry blossom logo (or scent if it’s candles or lotions).
