It is amazing for me when I step back and think about where this company was just a few years ago.   After my wedding I was left with the feeling many brides have ..."now what??"   After much soul searching I decided to put my technical skills (I was an engineering major in college, can you believe it?) to good use along with the passion I had for planning my wedding... and thus Moments of Elegance was created.   As our business has grown over the years, my focus has always been on finding truly unique and one of a kind favors and gifts.  We proudly carry products crafted by artisans from all over the world ranging from popular favor designers to talented stay at home moms who design and create many of our most unique offerings that you won't find anywhere else.  

Over the past 12 months, we have reinvented our business with an extensive overhaul of our technical infrastructure designed to make navigating the website faster and easier and more secure than ever before, more than doubled our support staff, added 15 new product lines and over 1000 new favors and gifts - and business has never been stronger.   We have built a team of dedicated, inspired and creative professionals available to assist our customers with planning ideas, great gift recommendations and top of the line customer service.   We strive to build strong and lasting relationships with our customers and partners, from event planners to brides and corporate special events coordinators.   We hope you can find that perfect something special for all of your life's events...  from your bridal shower and your wedding to baby showers, birthday parties, graduations, corporate holiday parties and anniversaries.   We are here for you every step of the way and if there is we can do to make your special event a wonderfully decorated success...  please don't hesitate to let us know.

Favors I would use...

I am a huge fan of "practical favors", favors you can eat or use, with my recent favorite being plantable seed favors.   There is something special about a favor that is eco-friendly and "gives back" in a sense (to the environment).   But it is also special in its significance that you can make work for any event.   The seed represents "new life" that can be symbolic for weddings, baby showers, bridal showers, graduations, birthday parties and anniversaries. All my friends and relatives think I have started a "favor" war, as for each of the birthdays and showers I plan for my kids or my friends, I try to find the cutest and most unique favor to give out (even for events that one might not think "require" favors). But how can I not try to outdo myself with each event when our favor offerings just get cuter, more unique and more special every year!!

Manager of Media and Creative Marketing

Before joining the great crew here at MOE, I entered the wedding business as a photographer & videographer and quickly found myself immersed in the world of tulle, topiaries, fondant and first dances.   I was there to document the happy couple but I couldn’t help but be enamored with the vast range of party styles I witnessed and the tremendous detail that went in to every element of the affair.  I gave up the camera and tried my hand at wedding planning for a year but soon came to a vital realization – everything was moving online.  Pretty soon, I thought, Wedding Planners are going to be out of a job!  Armed with my background in computers and my chronicles of wedding stories, I decided to jump on the technological bandwagon. 

Sometimes I think my position here at Moments of Elegance was created just for me, as it perfectly combines my passion for creative strategy and technology with experience in the wedding industry.  My job provides a new adventure everyday whether it’s creating a new product video, launching an online promotion or just keeping up with the hundreds of wedding web communities.   I think the internet has become such a crucial tool, not just in planning, but for the expansion of ideas.  Our marketing team is working on several new projects to allow brides and party planners to share their favor ideas, stories, funny videos and pictures; as well as developing our blog Blushing Bridezilla, a light-hearted commentary and collection of stories about the feared BRIDEZILLA!     

What do you like to do besides work at Moments of Elegance?  

I have two border collies so it happens to work out that I really enjoy the outdoors.  I’ve successfully taught them to go bike riding with me, kayaking with me and if only they’d stay on the chairlift, they’d go skiing with me too.  I enjoy keeping in touch with friends from all over the world and absolutely love to travel.  Hey, maybe someday we’ll do a “Honeymoon Review” series.  Stay tuned!    

What are your favorite favors and gifts?

Ambiance is big for me so I really like products that create a feeling or mood.  The Matchbox and Sparklers sets are great for nighttime or low-lit events and photograph really well.  Our Freeze Dried Flower Petals are a really easy way to decorate tables and outdoor grassy areas.  I've used them at one of my own events and they were far more inexpensive than the petals from the florist.  I think an often overlooked gift is for those who helped to make your event happen.  Whether your bridesmaids or your coworkers, an over-worked caterer or your mom.  I absolutely love our Tote Bags and Hand Stamped Jewelry and give them away as gifts all the time. My friends of course know what to expect by now but are still thrilled every time!

How did you get your start with Moments of Elegance?

The opportunity could not have come at a better time.  I had been a stay at home Mom for 9 years and my “baby” was going into the first grade.   I was wondering how I was going to spend my new found freedom and this job came my way and was a perfect fit with my experience and schedule.  It has been a wonderful job that allows me to feel like I am contributing while offering awesome flexibility.  I can still be apart of all my kids school functions and not feel like I have to choose between work and family.   Plus I get to be involved in helping brides and event planners decorate and create elaborate and beautiful special occasions, and that is so rewarding.

In my previous career I was a buyer for a department store chain and the whole internet shopping revolution was completely new to me.  I always refer to myself as the computer illiterate one to all my co-workers (and I am sure that they all agree)!!!  Technology has opened a whole new way of doing business - it is fun and exciting to be a part of!   

What favors would I like to receive? 

I am a more practical person so I always look to those favors that can be used again and again.  I think the wine stoppers are awesome and so are the glass coasters!  Items I would definitely use.  We have great themed favors that can top off the perfect wedding or party.  Also, I think the Swarovski crystal monogram cake toppers would be a must have for any wedding!

How did you get your start with Moments of Elegance?

I'm the newest member of the Moments of Elegance team and so far it has been great.  My background is pretty diverse.  I have a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master’s degree in nonverbal communication and I even completed a post-baccalaureate pre-med program.  I've worked in cosmetics, healthcare, taught English, psychology, and communication at various colleges, and was even a Budweiser girl!  So what brings me here?  Probably my desire to try new things - this job is great in that regard.  Every day I encounter new products to learn about, new skills to apply to my job, and I get the privilege of interacting with our diverse clientele.  It's wonderful to be able to help people choose special gifts and favors to share with their friends and families at the most important moments in their lives.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love to get outside and enjoy the sunshine.  My co-worker Carrie recently hooked us up with a really nice badminton set for our back yard.  The only bad part is, I am kind of a workaholic so I don't get to practice very often, and I usually get whooped whenever I do play.  Good thing I'm not a sore loser!  I'm also an animal lover, and since I have no pets in the house right now I have a feeling I'm going to have to buy one soon.  All my co-workers think I’m totally nuts, but I actually prefer rats.  As long as you find one with a pleasant demeanor they are the best pets ever.  Smart, crafty, lovable (they give kisses and like to cuddle, believe it or not).  I may have to update this page with a picture of the new addition when I get one.  Keep checking back!!

What favors would I like to receive? 

Hmmmm...Hard to say, we have so many awesome products and every day I find something new that I want.  I've got to say all of the new edible favors we have look amazing!!  The Chocolate Dipped Oreos and the Rice Krispies Chocolate Picture Treats, ahhhhhh heaven!  If I have to pick something I can't eat, I'm intrigued by our personalized magic beans.  They're pretty unique and anything that can grow with my name on it is top of my list, well, maybe second to the top after the stuff I can eat!

Distribution & Logistics Manager

I found myself searching for that great career opportunity.  I could be anything under the sun.  My parents wanted me to be a engineer and follow  in their footsteps.  Little did I know when I graduated that Logistics and Distribution manager at internet  based website  that specialized in selling wedding favors would be the perfect job for me.  All my friends are super excited that I can set them up with all the new hot favors for their weddings.  I love it, I always get compliments for my great taste in picking out favors for them (ha ha).  Being an integral part in an organization that is owned and operated by women is perfect, they all give me tips on how to treat the ladies right.  Who wouldn't want to be the only guy working with a bunch of women? 

But to be honest, I'm not really here just for the cool products (although they are great!).  This is a career with flexible hours that allow me to work from home on occasion so I can hit the slopes and practice my snowboarding in the winter and hit the waves in the summer.  I even have debated going on the PGA tour.  All jokes aside, there is something immensely satisfying about managing our distribution process and coming through for people when they really need it (we all know how brides can be from time to time).  It is always a pleasure to be the guy that makes sure things are in stock and make their way quickly and efficiently to our customers. 

What do you like to do besides work at Moments of Elegance?  

I am a DVR junkie.  I think it dates back to that one commercial where the dude is watching the football game and he runs out of food so he pauses live television so he can go out and hit up the local fast food joint.  When he comes back he presses play and sees the game winning field goal as if it was actually live TV, does it get better than that?  I also enjoy to read all the long books of literature.  If it has less than 1200 pages, its not for me baby.

How did you get your start with Moments of Elegance?

Ashley needed some help with a host of things when she was first got things going back in 2004.   She knew my talent for numbers and efficiency so she asked me to pitch in part time for a few months...  that is until business really started to blow up and to be part of such an entrepreneurial venture...   I was hooked.   I have seen this company surmount incredible obstacles and I am so excited to be a part of such an amazing group of fun people with a passion for what they do.
